　 What do you imagine when you hear the word "blue"?

Some people might recall the sky, and others might think of the sea.
(空を思い起こす人もいるかもしれませんし、海を思いつく人もいるかもしれません。)


Everybody has associations with colors.
(誰もが色についての連想をもっています。)


Blue often makes us imagine the sky or the sea.
(青は、しばしば私たちに空や海を連想させます。)


In other words, we associate blue with them.
(言いかえれば、私たちは青とそれらを結びつけてます。)


When we walk along the beach on a sunny day, the vast sky above us is blue.
(私たちが晴れた日に海岸を歩くとき、私たちの上の広大な空は青色です。)


The sea in front of us also looks blue.
(私たちの前の海もまた、青く見えます。)


We cannot see the sky or the sea without seeing their colors.
(私たちは、空や海を、その色をみることなしには見ることはできません。)


We take it for granted that everything has its own color.

And we naturally associate each thing with its color.
